South Dakota: Officially Nomads & Chasing Sunsets 🌅🏕️
This leg of our journey had a big purpose—establishing our domicile in South Dakota! 🚐💨
Why South Dakota?
For full-time RVers, South Dakota is one of the most popular states for residency because of its low taxes, simple registration process, and no state income tax. It was time to make it official—we are now South Dakota residents! 🎉
Sioux Falls: Small Town, Big Surprises 🌊🌮
We quickly discovered that Sioux Falls is a gem. We spent time exploring:
✔ The stunning waterfalls right in the middle of town 🌊
✔ Some of the best tacos we’ve had on the road 🌮
✔ Scheels (because it’s practically a tourist attraction in itself) 🏀🎣🏕️
✔ The cutest little zoo—we never pass up a chance to see some animals! 🦁🐵
Dakota Sunsets & Our First Road Friends 🌄
We stayed at Dakota Sunsets Campground just outside of Sioux Falls in Salem—and let me tell you, the name is spot on. Every evening, we watched the sky transform into a different masterpiece of reds, pinks, and oranges. 🌅
While here, we also got to know **the flies of South Dakota—**and let’s just say, they are relentless. 😂 But more importantly, this is where we made our very first road friends! A sweet couple from Nashville who we can’t wait to reconnect with when we roll through Tennessee in October.
And just like that—it’s official. We’re full-time nomads. We are RV-doing this. No turning back now! 🚐✨
