After enjoying the surprising beauty of Arkansas, we ventured to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. And what another pleasant surprise. This area is simply beautiful. Obviously we have an affinity for the lakes having grown up in Minnesota, but we really enjoyed being in the ‘lake life’ at Osage Beach. Our time in Osage Beach was filled with plenty of eats, drinks and of course a winery visit. And it seems the snakes followed us up from Texas as well – quite the big one in the campground while taking a walk. The highlight of our trip was certainly the ‘booze cruise’. It was a day on a boat with a bachelorette and bachelor party, cruising across the lakes and checking out three different lakeside bars. It was quite entertaining watching the young-ins getting wasted – we reminisced about the ‘good ‘ol days’ when we used to do that. lol. We also checked out the state part. It was a touching moment being able to shed some of pops’ ashes in the lake. He absolutely would have loved this area. This is certainly a place we would love to come spend a Summer someday.
