It was time to start venturing north from Texas. We were excited to have our adventures take us to a totally new area of Arkansas and Missouri. We did an overnight stay in Eufaula, Oklahoma and then made our way to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We were so surprised by the rolling hills and mountain ridges as we entered into Arkansas. It was simply beautiful. It was a little sketchy rolling into the KOA campground for our stay. It was a steep hill into the park and then some steep and uneven roads to our site, we actually scraped our jacks at one point, but no damage so all good.  Our campground was just a mile down the road from ziplining so Nick had to partake. I was too chicken so sadly he enjoyed without me, but he had a blast. We ventured to a near by brewery for Mother’s day and enjoyed some of the best tacos from the Twisted Taco food truck. It was such a lovely day with some live music, good food and brews with my favorite person. The town of Eureka Springs is super eclectic and ‘hippie’. It was really cool to take the trolley through downtown – and really our only option given the old roads running through town really aren’t built for a dually truck. We got to explore all the little shops and cool architecture in this town built into the ridges. Its known for its many springs but none of them are actually water filled and running so not much to see. We ventured to the Crescent Hotel, a historic hotel with a cool restaurant and bar with incredible calzones and views. We also checked out the Passion play and massive statue of Jesus. This was a site to see and there was a one-wheel race event taking place that day which was interesting to see. Had no idea this existed as a sport. There was also an amazing chapel in the woods we visited. If in the area I would recommend you definitely check out this incredible architectural structure. And nearby was the Turpentine Wildlife rescue where we got to see some beautiful big cats. It was quite the place and we love our cats. This stop was a pleasant surprise for us. It was such a cool town and we loved the beauty of Arkansas. We would definitely want to explore more of this area, and this one would be another great girl’s weekend spot. :)
