Our travels from St. Louis to Crossville, TN required an overnight in Kentucky. We found an amazing Harvest Host stop at Casey Jones Distillery. Neither of us are Bourbon fans but thought we would give a tasting a try- – maybe we have been missing out. It’s confirmed…we are not Bourbon fans. But what a great tour, tasting and property for a night stay. It was beautiful. We then stayed at the KOA in Crossville – midway between Nashville and Knoxville. What a great little town. The Cumberland County area was beautiful. We experienced the infamous Buc-ee’s for the first time, an epic gas station experience. We ventured to Cumberland Mountain State Park and Fall Creek Falls. Both full of so much beauty. One of our goals for our Tennessee Fall venture was to explore as many areas as we could to start thinking about a future home-base. We did a lot of driving and exploring to say the least. One of our drives brought us through Sweetwater where they have the cutest dairy farm – Sweetwater Valley Farm. Had some yummy cheese and beautiful rolling hills scenery. Another important stop while here was to visit our good friend Mandy who recently moved to TN from MN. We got to connect for dinner in south Knoxville area and do a day trip up to visit with the whole fam. We also took a trip to Sparta to visit our good friends from Nashville, Jason and Angie, who we met in South Dakota in our first year out on the road. It’s so amazing being able to connect with friends along our travels. And a stop wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t check out a historic fort, so a stop at South Point was pretty cool in Kingston. And as you can see from the photos, as per usual, we enjoyed plenty of good food, drinks and Nick’s smoked meat.
