Minnesota Summers: Traditions, Celebrations & A Few Surprises
Ah, Minnesota in the summer—there’s just nothing like it. The days are long, the air is crisp, and the sunsets over the lakes make you never want to leave.
As usual, we set up at our favorite Country Camping spot in Isanti before heading to our peaceful little retreat in the Aitkin woods for the rest of the season. There’s something about returning to familiar places that feels like coming home, and we wasted no time diving into our favorite traditions.
Our Favorite Minnesota Summer Traditions ☀️🏍️
✔️ Que Viet egg rolls—because once you’ve had them, nothing else compares.
✔️ Garrison VFW chicken & margarita night—good food, great company.
✔️ Winery & brewery hopping—summer sips at their finest.
✔️ 4th of July celebrations at Forest Lake and Horseshoe Lake with family.
But this summer wasn’t just about the usual stops—we had some new adventures and special moments, too!
Special Memories Made 🎣🎂
🛥️ Fishing on Lake Mille Lacs—a perfect day on the water, taking in the beauty of one of Minnesota’s best lakes.
🚗 Joyrides in Larry’s Corvette—because nothing says summer like cruising with the top down.
🏍️ Bringing the motorcycle out of storage—finally back on the road with two wheels!
🌊 Exploring Stillwater—a charming riverside town filled with history, great food, and beautiful views.
👨👩👧👦 Family reunion fun—always a reminder of how lucky we are to be surrounded by so many amazing people.
🎉 Nick’s 50th birthday bash—a huge milestone and an even bigger reason to celebrate.
A Few Unexpected Twists…
Of course, no trip is complete without a little excitement, right? A visit to Pop’s cross was a special moment of remembrance, and just to keep things interesting, Nick ended up in the ER for a few stitches. Nothing like a little impromptu hospital visit to keep us on our toes!
Grateful for Minnesota Summers
As the season winds down, we’re once again feeling thankful for the memories, the traditions, and the time spent with those we love. Minnesota summers truly are something special, and we wouldn’t trade them for the world.
