Virginia Views: Caverns, Skyline Drive & Unexpected Encounters 🏔️🌄🍖
Our next adventure took us to Virginia, where we soaked in more mountains, breathtaking views, and hidden gems.
A Quick Stop in Fort Chiswell 🍷🌮
Tucked away in the middle of nowhere, this little stop surprised us with:
✔️ A wonderful winery visit—because good wine can be found in the most unexpected places. 🍷✨
✔️ Delicious Mexican food—always a road trip win! 🌮
Winchester, VA: Caverns & Skyline Drive 🌄🛻
The main reason for this stop? Exploring caverns and taking in the legendary Skyline Drive. And we did exactly that.
✔️ Luray Caverns—Of all the caverns in the area, this one caught our eye. The formations were absolutely incredible—some of the most grand and intricate we’ve ever seen! 🏞️🪨
✔️ BBQ in Luray—We stumbled upon a one-man food truck, where we had mind-blowing tri-tip served cold on a sandwich?! . 🍖🤯
✔️ Skyline Drive—No words can truly capture this experience. The mountain views, winding roads, and endless valleys left us completely in awe. We didn’t get a chance to hike this time, but Shenandoah National Park is officially on the list for a future trip! 🏔️🍂
Fun Fact (or Not-So-Fun Fact?) 🐜🤢
We also learned what an Earwig was on this trip. Not sure what’s worse—Tennessee’s stink bugs or Virginia’s earwigs. Either way… no thanks. 😅
One thing’s for sure—Virginia’s mountains never disappoint. We’ll definitely be back for more hikes, more views, and more BBQ. 😍🏕️
